ADRIENE RICE AND JULIA DEMAREST OF TROUPE HIPNOTICA™:
Troupe Hipnotica Tribal Belly Dance was formed in 2002 and has created a unique variation of ATS that has set the standard for high energy and mesmerizing performances.

Co-directors, Adriene Rice and Julia Demarest, bring over 18 years of belly dance experience each to their workshops. As a former member of FatChanceBellyDance®, Adriene Rice had the opportunity to appear in instructional videos and perform in a variety of venues from international festivals, to cafes and private parties. In addition to the eleven years dancing with Troupe Hipnotica, Julia Demarest has performed and studied all facets of belly dance to include American Cabaret, Tribal and Folkloric.

Troupe Hipnotica workshops are infused with humor and hard work while leaving no detail unturned. Troupe Hipnotica is proud to host the sixth Cues & Tattoos festival.

DJ AmarDJ AMAR:
DJ Amar Amar is amongst a handful of DJs whose taste cuts a path through an abundance of musical selections and leads dance floors into a hypnotic sway like snakes before the charmer. In this instance the muse is a masala that brews sounds from the Middle East and Balkans with rhythms of the Asian underground and electric Brazilian vibes. Whether its breaks, bhangra, dubstep, drum & bass or downtempo, the global nature of Amar’s sets bridges a multi-culti span from the world to the Bay Area.

As a DJ and promoter, he has collaborated and shared the stage with some of the Bay Area’s & world’s most innovative Musicians, DJs and dancers including DJ Sep, Dr. Israel, Maneesh the Twister, Cheb i Sabbah, Ultra Gypsy, Sharon Kihara, Ariellah, Dub Gabriel, Bassnectar, Freq Nasty, Nitin Sawhney, Unmata, Zoe Jakes, Lady Ra, Third Eye Tribe, DJ Layla, Karsh Kale, Janaka, State of Bengal, Dr Das, Frederique, Rachel Brice, Glitch Mob and others. AnayaANAYA:
Anaya Tribal performs their own signature style of Improvisational Tribal Fusion Bellydance incorporating innovative & experimental fusion including prop work into their dynamic performances such as swords, fire tray, tribal skirt and anything else they can get their hands on.  After years of cabaret training, Tiffany and Cari found tribal with Domba! Trained in tribal by Domba!, FatChance videos and influenced by Zafira and Jill Parker and all the wonderful dancers of the world, Anaya Tribal has been performing their unique blend incorporating both their cabaret and tribal backgrounds since 2003. You can find them performing regularly in Arizona and now making their way across the globe vending, teaching and doing what they love best PERFORMING!

Ashley LopezASHLEY LOPEZ:
In addition to her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, Ashley López is a performer, instructor, and ever-evolving student of tribal fusion bellydance. Ashley holds Level I & II certifications from Rachel Brice’s 8 Elements as well as the Tribal Massive Advanced/Professional Certification Program for 2011 & 2012. She is a certified Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise, a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance, holds Pilates certifications Balanced Body University, the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, is currently working toward a certification with Stott Pilates and is a certified Spin, Kickboxing and Zumba instructor. She teaches weekly classes at Datura and her online instructional videos may be found at Datura Online. An active soloist and group performer, her most recent dance collaborations include performances with Beats Antique, Zoe Jakes and her Bhoomi Project as well asRachel Brice’s performance group for Tribal Fest 2012.

Carolena NericcioCAROLENA NERICCIO OF FATCHANCEBELLYDANCE®:
Since the creation of FatChanceBellyDance® by Carolena Nericcio in 1987, the troupe has fascinated audiences worldwide with their exciting improvisational technique. Carolena has refined a montage of different "tribal" elements into what has been coined American Tribal Style bellydance. The range of Carolena's comprehensive instructional videos, her interactive video consultation with remote students and teachers, as well as FCBD's® commitment to out of town workshops have spread FCBD's® American TribalStyle technique and philosophy around the globe.

Through their participation in dance festivals, collaborative productions with other artists, and benefit shows for community events, as well as private performances, FCBD® has established a strong professional reputation in and out of the Bay Area for performing as well.

Davina

DAVINA TRIBAL COLLECTIVE:
Davina Tribal Collective performs American Tribal Style® Belly Dance. In this dance style, every performance is improvised using cues and interconnection between the dancers. American Tribal Style belly dance was conceived by Carolena Nericcio in 1987 with her troupe, FatChanceBellyDance®. Davina Tribal Collective is a group of fully-certified ATS® professionals dedicated to practicing, performing, and teaching American Tribal Style belly dance, and is Utah's only FatChanceBellyDance Sister Studio. Davina Tribal Collective is a collection of five ATS® Sister Studios located throughout Utah and Washington State. Together, they have developed unique sword modifications to the existing slow ATS movements. By integrating these modifications into the improvisational dance vocabulary, Davina Tribal Collective's ATS sword maintains both the integrity and essence of American Tribal Style.

Devi MamakDEVI MAMAK OF GHAWAZI CARAVAN:
Devi Mamak, member and artistic director of Ghawazi Caravan, is based in The Blue Mountains, west of Sydney and is one of Australia’s premier ATS® dancers, teachers and choreographers.

Devi has studied a variety of different dance styles including Classical & Folkloric Egyptian, Odissi, Flamenco and Ballet but has largely turned her focus to ATS® since the late nineties. Devi began her training with Carolena Nericcio in 1999 and was the first in the southern hemisphere to become a sister studio.

Devi has also been invited to be part of major government funded projects such as "The Firebird", "Unmasked" and produced Ghawazi Caravan's unique production, "Intertwine". These projects gave Devi the opportunity to work with many of Australia's top dancers and musicians who are skilled in a variety of different dance and musical styles. This has all helped to develop Devi's unique and diverse approach to dance, all of which she passes onto her students.

Devi is renowned throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe for her creative, thorough and approachable teaching style and her beautiful, commanding stage presence. Devi has co taught Carolena's General Skills certificate on several occasions with several of her own steps being accepted into the ATS® syllabus. Devi is also a classical pianist, teacher and composer and a mother of two.

Heather Stants

HEATHER STANTS OF URBAN TRIBAL:
Heather Stants is a lifelong artist and dancer with a degree in photography and fine arts. Her career in tribal fusion dance began in the mid 1990's when she became the assistant director of Read My Hips (www.readmyhips.com) in Chicago, Illinois. In 1999 Heather moved to San Diego, California and launched the San Diego tribal movement through her classes and the formation of Urban Tribal Dance Company.

Heather's diverse movement and arts background, including being a certified yoga instructor, feeds her creativity and her groundbreaking approach to choreography. Urban Tribal Dance Company is known for it's contemporary approach to belly dance, a pared down costume emphasizing body line over ornamentation, athleticism and the use of the dance form as a means of personal expression and interpretation. Their creativity has twice earned them the title of "Troupe of the Year" in Zaghareet! Magazine's Golden Belly Awards. In addition to teaching several weekly classes in San Diego since 1999, Heather Stants and Urban Tribal Dance Company tour extensively sharing their love of modern tribal fusion dance with dancers in the U.S. and abroad. Kathy StalhmanKATHY STALHMAN:
Kathy Stalhman of Tribal Moon Belly Dance Kathy Stahlman is a former member of FatChance BellyDance® and is the artistic director of Tribal Moon Belly Dance. She has built a reputation as a compassionate and skilled teacher, dedicated to infusing the world with her love of ATS® and has been teaching ATS and Tribal Moon-inspired ITS belly dance since 2002.

Kathy teaches workshops nationally and worldwide and is a frequently invited instructor at the world’s leading Tribal festivals. As an early member of FatChance, Kathy is in several of the FatChance BellyDance DVD series including ‘Cues & Transitions', 'The Gypsy Trail', and ‘The 20 Year Retrospective, Director’s Cut’. Lisa HydeLISA HYDE:
Lisa Hyde’s interest in belly dance began many years ago in Los Angeles and grew to an obsession after she moved to the Bay Area. She devoured the teachings that the Bay Area had to offer, immersing herself in the study of zill artistry, American Tribal Style, and Dark Fusion, and supplementing her training with other dance styles such as ballet. As a performer, Lisa combines her varied background in movement studies with a rare emotional elegance in storytelling to create compelling artistic performances on the stage.

In addition to her solo work, Lisa is a founding member of Standfire Collective, a troupe whose mission is to create a new and exciting improvisational dialogue with a killer zill edge. With Standfire Collective, Lisa displays her sassier side in their fun, high-energy performances.

Mira BetzMIRA BETZ:
The multi-faceted career of Mira Betz is a testament to her passionate artistry and desire for continual growth. Active in theater, dance and the performing arts for 20 years, Mira Betz has become a sought after dancer, choreographer, costumer, and teacher. Nominated "Instructor of the year" by Zaghareet Magazine, Mira is a valued instuctor at prestigeous festivals and camps across the nation, as well as at the Malonga Arts Collective in Oakland California.

Mira began her training in Middle Eastern dance as a young teen studying with some of the most respected and knowledgeable teachers of our time, such as Katarina Burda, Jamila Salimpour, and Suhaila Salimpour. As a founding member, choreographer, and solo performer of Aywah! Ethnic Dance Company for 10 years, she developed a solid foundation of contemporary, traditional, as well as ritualistic dance forms. Aywah!, under the direction of Katarina Burda, flourished to become one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most respected ethnic dance companies and significantly influenced today'sTribal Fusion scene.

In 1998 Mira went abroad to live and study the native dances of Morocco. In 2007 she co-founded the Barbary Coast Shakedown, a collaboration of Middle Eastern dance professionals exploring theatrical dance performance. In spring 2006 she was a guest choreographer for Jill Parker and her company Ultra Gypsy. In 2004-2005 Mira toured nationally with renowned drummer Tobias Roberson and was the artistic director of the ECHOS Project; a collaboration of choreographers in the San Francisco Bay Area supporting the exploration of traditional and experimental music and dance fusion. Mira was a featured dancer at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire from1994-2002. She has performed on such infamous stages as the Fillmore in San Francisco, the Hollywood Bowl in LA, Humphrey's in San Diego, the Knitting Factory in NYC and night clubs and restaurants across the US. She has had the pleasure of working with incredible talent such as David Byrne, Rachel Brice, Jill Parker, Zoe Jakes, Elizabeth Strong, Heather Stants, Amy Sigil and many more. Mira Betz received her B.F.A. from the California College of Arts and Crafts. Her dance background includes training in Salsa, Modern, Jazz, and Flamenco.

Mira continues to spread her experience, knowledge and love for dance through her captivating performance and engaging teaching style.

Rachel BriceRACHEL BRICE:
Rachel Brice first fell in love with Belly Dance while watching John Compton's famous Hahbi'Ru at the Northern California Renaissance Faire. She began classes immediately.

10 years later she relocated to acquire a Bachelor's Degree in Dance Ethnology from San Francisco State. While in the Bay Area she studied with Jill Parker, the creator of Tribal Fusion, Carolena Nericcio, the creator of American Tribal Style, and Suhaila Salimpour, daughter of the legendary Jamila Salimpour and creator of the equally legendary Salimpour Format.

In addition to performing and teaching internationally, Rachel studies Viniyoga with Gary Kraftsow, and co-directs The Indigo Belly Dance Company with Miss Mardi Love and Zoe Jakes. 2007 marked The Indigo's first self-produced, full-length show Le Serpent Rouge, which sparked an old-timey revolution. Rachel lives in the Pacific Northwest.

Wendy MarlattWENDY MARLATT OF RASHANI WORLD FUSION:
Wendy Marlatt is known internationally for her uniquely elegant and vibrant dance. Her performances weave a divine fabric that invite the viewer on a journey thru world dance history blending the ancient with the contemporary. Dancing from the age of 6, Wendy began her study of tribal belly dance after an an inspiring trip to Egypt. She began her studies with Carolena Nerriccio and FatChanceBellyDance® in 1995. Since then she has gained extensive and diverse training in diverse genres of bellydance as well as flamenco and sevillanas. While she lived in Ireland she taught extensively throughout Ireland and the UK. Now based in San Francisco, Wendy now shares her passion and unique style in the San Francisco Bay Area.
